Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Ballard County Criminal History. Accessing the site means that you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Ballard County and Kentucky record links are provided for reference. We are not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government agency. It cannot produce an official criminal record, conduct a government background check, or file a document for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Ballard County and Kentucky sources, including the sheriff, jail, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on lawful, respectful conduct. You must not:

  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar collection tools
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass anyone with information found here
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any part of the service
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Disrupt access or degrade site performance for other visitors
  • Violate a federal, Kentucky, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No site or linked-tool information may be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against a person. Kentucky Sex Offender Registry data is published for public safety awareness, not vigilantism. Harassment can be criminal under KRS 525.070 and KRS 525.080. This prohibition also reaches retaliatory action and any FCRA-regulated screening use.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our partners are not presented as tools for an FCRA purpose. You may not use site or linked-tool data to:

  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate an applicant for housing
  • Decide access to a license, benefit, permit, or government program
  • Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A legally authorized official check should be obtained through the appropriate Kentucky State Police or statutory fingerprint channel, or through a provider that meets the law governing that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Ballard County charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement rule applies to one person's facts. Consult a licensed Kentucky attorney for that judgment.

6. No Warranties

The site is supplied "as is" without a promise that:

  • An outside search result is complete or correctly matched
  • Every page is free from defects or security weaknesses
  • All information is current, accurate, or complete
  • Access will remain continuous and uninterrupted

Charges, dispositions, restrictions, and expungements can change what a record shows. Gaps and delays are possible. Only the Ballard County or Kentucky office that maintains the source can provide an official statement.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may open a county office, court, Kentucky agency, legal resource, or outside service that we do not operate. We do not control its content, availability, fees, or data practices. Review that provider's terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Ballard County Criminal History or its content partners owns the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, adapting, distributing, or building upon that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from use of the site, linked services, or information obtained through them.

10. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms, and a dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Kentucky. Public-record access remains governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, including its exceptions, while KRS 17.150 limits access to centralized criminal histories and certain law-enforcement records.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be narrowed only enough to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
